			Within the framework of this purpose, the fundamental objectives of the consortium are:

			· Promote member agreements on a set of priority areas for research, advocacy, and other actions.

			· Coordinate a joint voice of the members in regional and international forums in the areas in which there is agreement by the member organizations, without prejudice to their being able to maintain individual action or direct collaboration.

			· Promote projects that involve people who are not members of Alsur, both focused on digital rights and other rights related to gender, development and technology.</blockquote>Nonetheless, there seems to be a degree of uncertainty as to how Al Sur adds strategic value to its members and to the cause of digital rights in Latin America.
